The larva is polyphagous and feeds on the leaves of a variety of plants i.e. Compositae (Calendula arvensis, Dittrichia viscosa, Glebionis coronaria, Matricaria chamomilla, etc), Labiatae (Lavandula, Mentha), Euphorbiaceae (Ricinus communis), Solanaceae (Nicotiana glauca, Hyoscyamus niger), Poaceae (Sorghum, Zea mays), Papaveraceae (Glaucium flavum), etc.
