Appearance

The forewings are elongated and narrow. Their basic color is usually brown, with darker wide eight-shaped, and reniform markings in the discal and postdiscal areas. There are also some dark brown spots close to the outer edge and to the apex.

The hindwings are whitish with brown veins.

Habitat

The moth can be found in calcareous soils, phrygana, coastal areas, and grasslands where larval food plants are present.

Food plant
The larva is polyphagous and feeds on a variety of plants, i.e. Leguminosae (Medicago sativa, Trifolium), Poaceae (Zea mays), Polygonaceae (Polygonum), etc.
