Habitat
Rocky slopes, mountains, dry shrubland, phrygana. It hibernates during winter in caves, tunnels, and dark cavities.

The oligophagous larva feeds on the leaves of Leguminosae (Hippocrepis, Genista, Onobrychis, Medicago, etc.).
