Habitat
Gardens and crops, coastal areas, fallow fields, saline marshes, and waste places.
Food plant
The probably monophagous larva feeds on Amaranthaceae (Beta vulgaris ssp maritima, Beta vulgaris (beetroot) Chenopodium, Salicornia europaea, Suaeda maritima). The young larvae initially bore into the midrib and subsequently mine the leaf beneath a protective web spun over it.
