Appearance
Both forewings and hindwings are porcelain-white colored. There is a series of four small grey spots along the outside edge of the forewing. The inner edge has a large dark brown stain, followed by a lighter brown stain towards the middle of the wing.
In resting position, the moth has the appearance of a bird dropping.
Habitat
Sunny slopes, warm scrub, parks, and hedges.
Food plant
The oligophagous larva feeds on the leaves of Rosaceae (Crataegus, Malus sylvestris, Prunus spinosa), Oleaceae (Jasminum).
