Habitat
Dry rocky areas, coastal areas, heathlands, meadows, and orchards.
Food plant
The larva is broadly polyphagous and feeds on the leaves, flowers, and seeds of various plants, i.e. Compositae (Anthemis, Bellis, Centaurea, Chrysanthemum), Caryophyllaceae (Dianthus, Silene), Convolvulaceae (Convolvulus arvensis), Iridaceae (Iris), Ranunculaceae (Ranunculus), Zygophyllaceae (Fagonia cretica), Leguminosae (Bitumniaria bituminosa), etc. Although it is not an important fruit pest, it has also been reported on apple (Malus), pear (Pyrus), raspberry (Rubus) and strawberry (Fragaria).
