The Family Autostichidae (Autostichid Moths)

The Family Autostichidae

The family Autostichidae (Autostichid Moths) is a family of moths in the superfamily Gelechioidea. Autostichid moths are mainly Indo-Australian moths of Gelechioidea. The taxonomy of the family Autostichidae is under debate; it includes genera that had been placed in Gelechiidae, Xyloryctidae, or Symmocidae.

Smooth scaled head, filiform antenna, and folded, scaled maxillary palps are characteristics of this family.

The following species are representative species of the moths that have been photographed on the island of Crete. You can obtain more information about each species, by selecting the relative species icon. The list of Autostichidae species is nondefinitive.
