The polyphagous larva feeds on the fruits, stems, and leaves of Solanaceae (Lycopersicon lycopersicum, Nicotiana glauca, Datura stramonium, Solanum), Phaseolus vulgaris, Convolvulaceae (Convolvulus arvensis), and Amaranthaceae (Chenopodium album).

It is considered a serious pest to tomato plants.
