The larva is polyphagous and feeds on the leaves of a variety of plants i.e.  Amaranthaceae (Atriplex, Chenopodium κ.α.), Leguminosae (Pisum sativum), Compositae (Calendula arvensis), Convolvulaceae (Convolvulus arvensis), Primulaceae (Cyclamen), (Verbascum sinuatum), Polygonaceae (Polygonum aviculare, Rumex crispus), Rosaceae (Prunus spinosa), Vitaceae (Vitis vinifera), etc. Occasionally it is a pest of cultivated tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum).
