Habitat
Vineyards, olive groves, dry and warm areas.
Food plant
The larva is polyphagous and feeds on various plants, i.e. Vitis vinifera (Grapevine), Olea europaea (Olive), Araliaceae (Hedera helix), Berberidaceae (Berberis), Caprifoliaceae (Lonicera), Ranunculaceae (Clematis), Rosaceae (Crataegus, Prunus spinosa, Rubus, Malus), Thymelaeaceae (Thymelaea hirsuta), Hyacinthaceae (Drimia maritima) etc.
It is one of the most important insect pests of grapevines. The larvae bore into the fruits.
